Photograph of Cushing's Folly. Main Street and Boston Post Road, Amherst, NH. Writing on back: "Burned February 15, 1948. A. L. Martin bought store building from Mr. Bailey _____ [Abbott?] April 2, 1919. Bought mdse [merchandise?] from W. D. Clark and W. __[?]. Hopkins.Sold building and mdse to Chris ________ [Wellett?] in 1939. A. L. Martin in store 20 years. Built by Joseph Cushing for book printing plant in 1808. Later used for Amherst Post Office and General Store. Was in business here 20 years. (A. L. Martin and Ed Judkins out front.)"
