Description |
Digital image of photographic print. Writing on back: "Frances Tucker Abbott with sons John, Mathew, Tucker, and Peter (Charles) at Aunt Agnes Carruth's house (Pierce House), Amherst, N.H." They are standing in front of the east facade of the main block of the Col. Robert Means house. (The reference to "Pierce House" is a common misnomer based on the fact that Franklin Pierce was married there.)
Frances Tucker (married to Charles M. Abbott in Bermuda in 1913) was sister to Ethel and Catherine Tucker. Ethel and Catherine were artists who lived in Bermuda and produced postcards of their paintings of Bermuda scenes. See website: http://www.postcardcollections.fsnet.co.uk/artists/tuckers.htm. |
